SAINTCON is a community event. The code of conduct below applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, staff, and volunteers at the venue, in official online spaces, and at sanctioned off-site events.
1. Respect for All Attendees
Every attendee deserves a harassment-free experience. Treat people with dignity regardless of their background, experience level, or role at the conference.
2. No Discrimination or Harassment
Harassment or discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, or any other protected attribute is not tolerated.
3. Confidentiality
Security conferences involve sensitive material. Treat information shared in talks, training, and informal conversation with the discretion it deserves. If in doubt, ask.
4. Consumption of Alcohol
Alcohol at the conference is permitted only when provided and served by the Utah Valley Convention Center. Outside alcohol is not allowed on-site.
5. Responsible Use of Technology
Do not attempt unauthorized access to systems, networks, or devices belonging to the venue, sponsors, or other attendees. The hacking is limited to the events designed for it.
6. Compliance with Laws
All applicable local, state, and federal laws apply on-site. This shouldn’t need saying.
7. No Lewd or Offensive Behavior
Keep conduct professional. Sexual harassment, obscene language directed at individuals, and the display of offensive materials in common areas are not acceptable.
8. Reporting of Violations
If you see or experience a violation, report it immediately to conference staff. Look for the SAINTCON badge, or contact organizers via Discord.
See Reporting a CoC Violation for the full reporting process, what to include, and what happens after you report.
9. Consequences of Violations
Reports are investigated by conference staff. Violations may result in immediate removal from the event and bans from future SAINTCON events.
