This challenge will test your skills in DFIR area’s like digital forensics, network forensics, malware analysis, hashing/encryption, threat intelligence, OSINT, scripting, and more! Participants need to bring a general sense of curiosity and interest in the forensicating side of the house. They will also need to have a general competency to analyze basic disk images, log files, and cyber threat intelligence data. The ultimate goal of DFIR is to break down the who, what, when, where, and and why of a cyber attack.

This challenge will be offered to all participants attending SaintCon. The challenge will include a test of skills in the following categories:

  • Intro/Ramping Up/General
  • Digital Forensics
  • Network Forensics
  • Malware Analysis
  • Hashing/Encryption
  • Threat Intelligence
  • OSINT
  • Scripts
  • DFIR Case History

Participants need to bring a general sense of curiosity and interest in the forensicating side of the house. Rules:

Participants can choose to play the game individually or in teams. They are expected to abide by SaintCon’s code of conduct and not try to interfere with others playing the game.

Participants will play through the game by answering questions and receiving points for questions answered correctly.
