Breaking in, and getting back out in an effort to leave no trace.

Welcome to the Capture the Flag game designed to hone your skills on the blue team side of cybersecurity. This challenge is crafted to test your proficiency in areas such as digital forensics, network forensics, malware analysis, hashing/encryption, threat intelligence, OSINT, scripting, and more! Whether you’re a seasoned cybersecurity professional or a curious beginner, this game promises to engage and challenge all participants.

Objective: Your mission is to unravel the who, what, when, where, and why of a cyber-attack. By analyzing provided digital forensics data, log files, and cyber threat intelligence data, you’ll identify flags that identify vulnerabilities, detect intrusions, and mitigate threats effectively.

Everything you need to know…

Game Format:

  • Team or Solo Play: You can participate alone or form a team of up to 3 – 4 members. Collaboration can enhance the experience and bring diverse perspectives to solving challenges.
  • Online Portal: Access the game through an online portal where you can set up teams, view challenges, and submit your findings.
  • Tools and Setup: While the game is compatible with any operating system, you may need to download files or content to find hidden flags. Utilizing tools like the SANS SIFT Workstation or resources from the Eiffel65 Community can provide an edge in analyzing and interpreting data effectively.
  • Scoring: The game will feature a scoreboard updated in real-time to track different teams and user progress.

Rules of Engagement:

  • Respect the Platform: Do not attempt to attack or brute force the game scoreboard or other players’ challenges.
  • Fair Play: Intentionally disrupting challenges of other players is prohibited. The game rewards dynamic scoring based on difficulty, so each capture affects the overall challenge value.
  • Scoring Dynamics: Challenges that are frequently solved will decrease in point value, while those that prove more challenging will offer higher rewards. This encourages strategic thinking and emphasizes quality over quantity in solving cyber incidents.

Who Can Participate:

This game is designed to be inclusive, catering to participants of all skill levels. Whether you’re new to cybersecurity or an experienced practitioner looking to refine your skills, there are challenges that will test and expand your knowledge in blue team operations.
