Things come up. Travel falls through, a project fire flares the week of conference, family takes priority. SAINTCON tickets are transferable so the seat doesn’t go to waste.
The short version
- Go to the registration platform’s transfer portal.
- Enter your confirmation code and the new attendee’s full name and email.
- The new attendee receives a confirmation, and your name is removed from the manifest.
Self-service link: [The registration platform URL goes here once the 2026 system is live. In recent years the portal lived at
register.saintcon.org/transfer.]
Who can transfer
Anyone holding a confirmed SAINTCON ticket. Both standard and discounted registrations transfer the same way. Sponsor passes, speaker comp tickets, and trainer comp tickets are handled separately. Reach out via Discord if you’re trying to move one of those.
What the new attendee inherits
The transfer moves your registration to a new person. It does not move:
- Hotel bookings. Booked separately under the attendee’s name; the new person needs to handle their own lodging or rebook in the room block if it’s still open.
- Scholarship awards. Scholarship recipients can’t pass the award to someone else; if you can’t attend, the scholarship slot returns to the pool. Email the scholarship coordinator so the seat can be reallocated.
- Training enrollment. Trainings are paid additions to a base ticket. If your transferee doesn’t want the same training, the training fee may not transfer. Confirm with the registration platform’s terms before initiating.
- Sponsor / speaker / trainer perks. Special-status passes can’t be moved by self-service.
Deadlines
Self-service transfers stay open until the registration desk closes for the day on the first conference day (Monday Oct 26 at 6 PM check-in opens, then transfer windows close at end of registration desk). After that, transfer requests need to be handled in person at the registration desk and may be denied if check-in for the original attendee already happened.
Name on the badge
The badge prints the registration name. If the transfer goes through before badge printing (typically the week before the conference), the badge will be printed under the new attendee’s name. Late transfers may result in a badge with the original name. The registration desk can issue a name correction at check-in if needed.
Refunds (Cancellation) vs. Transfers
A transfer keeps the ticket value with SAINTCON and sends a different person to the conference. A refund returns the ticket value to your card and frees the seat. Refund information can be found in the Terms & Conditions; typically full refunds are available until ~30 days before the event. Transfers don’t have the same time pressure since the seat stays sold.
If self-service doesn’t work
Common reasons self-service fails:
- The original confirmation email is lost or in a different inbox.
- The transfer window has closed.
- The ticket is a special-status pass.
Contact the registration committee through the Discord #registration channel or email the registration lead from the Planning Committee page. Bring your confirmation code, the new attendee’s full name, and the email address you want the new confirmation sent to.
