What’s in a bitstream? How could you find out? At Bitstream Hackers Community, we are all about showing off tools you can use to capture those bits of data and decode them. Our booth has hands-on tools you can sit down with and find yourself knee-deep in data in just a few minutes.
Start at bitstreamhackers.dev
bitstreamhackers.dev has every step of the Bitstream Hackers badge challenge. Sat down at the booth and not sure what you're looking at? Open the site and start with Level 1.
- Level 1, Read. Clip onto an EEPROM, pull the data off, and decode it.
- Level 2, Write. Flash new content onto your own minibadge at the programming station.
- Level 3, Capture. Sniff live traffic across four bus protocols with a logic analyzer.
The site also has the minibadge build guide, with photos for each soldering step, and the browser-based tools used at the booth. Bring a laptop if you can, with Chrome or Edge for the WebUSB tools.
